We will visit several beautiful Lombard parks. You will have the option to just walk, Nordic walk (with poles provided by the instructor), or add a set of light dumbbells and exercises while you walk. Stick with one or switch it up each week. There will be a 5-minute warm-up and a 5-minute cool down with stretches. A list of parks and dates will be given at Madison Meadow Park on the first day. Senior Strength Training focuses on muscle tone and developing strength by working out to music with light weights, bands, etc. Both classes are a full body workout taught by an instructor with extensive senior fitness teaching experience. Participants purchase a punch card, good for either class and used only when classes are attended. You may join at any time. Consult your physician before registering. Class is formatted with 15 minutes of cardio movement followed by 15 minutes of seated resistance training and balance work. We finish class with 10 minutes of cardio and 5 minutes of stretching. All cardio moves can be done seated in the chairs that are provided. Receive a $24 discount when registering for both classes.
